AcuNoise not only gives you a finer filter effect it also lets you control which areas of the photo/image has noise added and which areas do not.
As shown in the example, noise (at maximum force) was added to the midrange area of the image and neither the shadows nor the highlights were affected.
This is great for when you want to add a little noise to simulate skin pores but don't want to add it to the dark shadows where it might look out of place.
